What’s Happening with the Former Fresh Market Property?

Many residents may be wondering about the former Fresh Market property at the northeast corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Half Day Road (Lincolnshire Marketplace Center highlighted in yellow on the map below). Below are a few highlights and updates.

  • The former Fresh Market property is owned by Krupa Nidhan LLC who bought it in December 2022. Krupa Nidhan LLC operates several grocery stores and restaurants in Illinois and Wisconsin.

  • The building has been vacant since 2018.

  • Krupa Nidham LLC submitted plans for a grocery store, a sit-down restaurant/sports bar, and a banquet venue. No permit has been issued as plan revisions are required.

  • In addition to the privately owned former Fresh Market and Culver’s properties, the Village owns three adjacent parcels which are available for sale and development.

  • The Village Board will conduct a public hearing regarding proposed PUD and Declaration changes to allow sit-down restaurants and banquet venues which are currently prohibited, as well as other suitable commercial uses at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 26, at the Village Hall (1 Olde Half Day Road). All are welcome to attend and address the Board. The meeting will also be livestreamed on Facebook and a video will be posted to the Village website.

If you have questions regarding the property, please contact the Village’s Planning & Development Manager Tonya Zozulya at 847-913-2313 or tzozulya@lincolnshireil.gov.

Village of Lincolnshire Earns Re-Certification | Community Rating System

The Community Rating System (CRS) is like a report card for how well the Village of Lincolnshire handles flood safety and prevention. Think of it as a way to ensure the village does its part to keep flooding under control and buildings safe from flood damage. Since 1992, Lincolnshire has been part of a special program that checks if  Lincolnshire is doing a good job with this.

Here’s how it works: The better the village manages flood areas and prevents flood damage, the better our "grade" or rating becomes. Lincolnshire has been doing well, earning a high score since 2001. This score helps our residents save money on flood insurance. If your home is in an area that could get flooded, you could get up to a 25% discount on your flood insurance premium. Thanks to our high score, residents pay less for flood insurance!
