Community Blood Drive Tomorrow - Sign-Up Now

This Saturday, April 20, the Village will host a community blood drive from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Village Hall during the second annual Open House. Individuals aged 17 or older (16 with signed parental consent), weighing at least 110 pounds, and in good health are eligible to donate.

Donors are encouraged to eat well, and stay hydrated, and are required to provide a photo ID at the time of donation. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a smooth and efficient donation experience. Walk-ins are welcome. Please park in the parking lot south of Village Hall. Click HERE to sign up today.

See You Tomorrow - 2nd Annual Open House

The second annual Open House is tomorrow Saturday, April 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. All are welcome to tour the Police Department and Public Works facility, take part in interactive games, and enjoy giveaways of all kinds. Make sure you visit all booths/activities to complete the scavenger hunt to win a special prize. Activities include:

Police (1 Olde Half Day Rd.)

  • Touch-a-Truck

  • Try on police vests and handle equipment

  • Explosive disposal demonstration

  • K9 demonstration

  • Community Blood drive (click HERE for eligibility information)

Public Works (205 Schelter Rd.)

  • Free pancake breakfast served by Boy Scout Troop 78

  • Paint-a-Plow

  • Sandbox digging

  • Slam dunk / bounce house activities

  • Anti-icing and watermain break demonstrations

The Village will also take part in the DEA's Drug Take Back Day. From 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., you can safely dispose of unused/expired prescription drugs at Village Hall. All solid and liquid medications in consumer containers are welcome. Illicit drugs, needles, and syringes cannot be accepted. For more information, click HERE.

Parking will be extremely limited at the Village Hall campus and Public Works facility, so take advantage of the free shuttle service stationed at 475 Milwaukee Avenue. For those taking part in the Drug Take Back Day at Village Hall, you can drop off your items via the emergency access route. Blood drive participants can park south of Village Hall. Get Ready for Spring Clean-Up

Residents are encouraged to take part in the Village’s annual Spring Clean-Up event on Saturday, May 4. Items must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m., and pre-registration is not required. Items must be a manageable size for one person to lift, and there is no limit to the number of items that may be set out. Click HERE for more information.

Be a Good Neighbor - Follow Permitted Contractor Work Hours

As spring projects come to life, residents should be mindful of approved working hours for commercial contractors, including landscapers, builders, handymen, and other professionals hired to perform work on the property.
