If you are considering installing a gazebo or any other permitted detached accessory structure in your yard, the Village has specific guidelines that need to be followed before these structures can be built.
Before construction can begin, a completed Building Permit Application needs to be submitted to the Village for review to make sure that the proposed structure is compliant with the Village code. Codes pertaining to detached accessory structures can be found under Title 6 - Chapter 3, or a copy of the code can be obtained at the Village Hall. The Village defines a detached accessory structure as an accessory structure surrounded by open space, which is not physically attached to the principal structure on the lot by means of a common foundation.
If you have any other questions pertaining to detached accessory structures or any other property maintenance concerns, please contact Nicole Koleno, code enforcement inspector at 847-883-8600.
