2024 Movies in the Park Announced

Gather your friends and family this summer for the second annual Movies in the Park series. Movies will begin at sunset, as the listed start times are approximate. All viewing areas will be held on grass and seats will be on a first-come, first-served basis. All attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket, chair, and/or cooler to make the experience more comfortable and enjoyable. You will not want to miss this year’s lineup. We hope to see you there.

Movie Lineup & Venues

Rookie of the Year – June 20
Estimated Start Time: 8:30 p.m.
Location: North Park

“Rookie of the Year” is a family-friendly sports comedy that tells the story of Henry Rowengartner, a 12-year-old baseball fan who dreams of playing in the major leagues, despite his mediocre playing ability. After breaking his arm in a freak accident, Henry discovers his tendons have healed a little too tight, granting him an incredible pitching arm. With a blend of humor, heart, and baseball, “Rookie of the Year” is an uplifting tale about achieving the impossible and the importance of staying true to oneself.

The Goonies – July 18
Estimated Start Time: 8:15 p.m.
Location: Spring Lake Park

“The Goonies” is an iconic adventure comedy that follows a band of young misfits named the Goonies. Facing the impending loss of their homes due to foreclosure, the group discovers an ancient treasure map in the attic of one of the homes. Inspired by the possibility of saving their neighborhood, they set out on a quest to find the fortune of legendary pirate One-Eyed Willy. “The Goonies” is a beloved classic that captures the essence of childhood adventure and the spirit of discovery.

Moana – August 30 (Sprague Back-to-School Bash)

Location: Laura B. Sprague Field (please note: Alcohol is prohibited at this event)

“Moana” is an animated musical adventure that tells the story of Moana Waialiki, the spirited daughter of a Polynesian village chief. Destined to become the leader of her island, Moana is drawn to the ocean and the secrets it holds. When her island faces a dire environmental threat caused by the demigod Maui’s actions centuries ago, Moana must find a solution to save her tribe. “Moana” is a story of self-discovery, resilience, and the unbreakable connection between humans and the natural world.
