Sign Up For Vacation Watch

Going away for the holidays? Being away from your home for any length of time can lead to security concerns. Consider registering your residence with the Police Department’s Vacation Watch program. Homes on watch receive exterior checks by officers, and homeowners receive a notification if any issues are found. A Vacation Watch request can be done online and only takes a few minutes to complete.

While you are away, don’t publicize your absence. Ask a friend to monitor your home, maintain your yard, and pick up mail or newspapers. Stop your mail and newspapers if no one can pick them up, and consider installing programmable light timers.

75 Years of Making Holiday Dreams Come True

Marines will be on hand at Lincolnshire Lights, on December 2, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Toys for Tots program. They are collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in need. Join your Lincolnshire community at this festive event.

Accepting Midwest Veterans Closet Donations

The Lincolnshire Police Department is collecting jackets, coats, and other cold-weather clothing for the Midwest Veterans Closet.

Midwest Veterans Closet, is a not-for-profit charity, a large distributor of food, goods, and dignity for our military heroes. Many are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness. Midwest Veterans Closet also provides for active-duty service members, many of whom are newly stationed at Great Lakes, the only Naval Recruit Training Center in the country. All your donations of goods are free to current and once-proud soldiers and their families.

Stop by the Lincolnshire Police Department and drop off your donations now through December 20.

Overnight Street Parking Permitted During the Thanksgiving Holiday

To accommodate families over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Police Department is permitting overnight street parking for all residents and guests. No overnight parking tickets will be issued from Wednesday, November 23 through Sunday, November 27. Remember to bring in your valuables and lock your car doors. Restrictions will be reinstated if the Village receives more than 1” of snow during this time. Happy Thanksgiving from the Lincolnshire Police Department!
