If you plan to use Spring Lake Beach, you should make yourself aware of the beach’s rules:

  1. All beach users are responsible to review beach rules as posted at the beach.
  2. All persons in the beach area, when a lifeguard is on duty, are required to pay a fee between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  3. Season Tags or Daily Wristbands must be clearly visible to the lifeguard at all times.
  4. If no lifeguard is on duty, swimmers swim at their own risk.
  5. If no lifeguard is on duty, persons under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible person age 17 years or older.
  6. When present, lifeguards are responsible for enforcing safety rules and responding to emergencies.
  7. Parents or guardians must supervise children.
  8. Children, ages 10 and under, must be accompanied and supervised by a pass-bearing person age 17 years or older.
  9. Children with floatation devices must be accompanied by pass-bearing person age 17 years or older at all times.
  10. Children who are not toilet-trained shall wear tight-fitting rubber or plastic pants.
  11. No one should swim alone.
  12. Entrance to the water shall be from the beach only.
  13. Patrons are encouraged to protect themselves from sun exposure.
  14. Appropriate beach attire is required at all times in the beach area.
  15. Swimmers of questionable skill are required to take and pass a swim test prior to being allowed on the water feature or in deep water.
  16. The lake water is not suitable for drinking. Avoid swallowing lake water.
  17. Admission to the beach may be refused to all persons having a contagious disease, including: Infectious conditions such as colds, fever, ringworm, foot infections, skin lesions, carbuncles, boils, diarrhea, vomiting, inflamed eyes, ear discharges, or any other condition that has the appearance of being infectious.
  18. Persons with excessive sunburn, unhealed abrasions, and/or bandages or any kind may be refused admittance.
  19. A person under the influence of alcohol or exhibiting erratic behavior shall not be permitted in the beach area.
  20. Littering is prohibited. In addition, no alcohol, food, gum or tobacco is allowed on the beach or in the water.
  21. Glass containers are prohibited throughout the beach area.
  22. Personal conduct within the beach must be such that safety is not jeopardized.
  23. Diving is not permitted.
  24. Swimming is prohibited after sunset or before sunrise, or when lightning is present, including a 30-minute period after the last lightning is observed.
  25. No pets are permitted in the park or beach area.
  26. Feeding of wildlife or other actions that encourage their presence is prohibited and is subject to a fine under the Village Code.
  27. Groups of 10 to 30 persons must purchase a beach permit. Groups larger than 30 are prohibited.
