LRS Waste Hauler Transition

New Hauler New Savings

The Village of Lincolnshire will transition waste hauling services from Waste Management to LRS on January 1, 2022. A four-year contract with LRS was approved by the Village Board of Trustees on October 11, 2021, and the transition will save the average Lincolnshire resident $93/year.

Select sizes for your new, blue garbage and recycling carts on the LRS website by early December 2021.

Am I Affected?

Only single-family homes within the Village limits will be affected by the waste hauler transition. Townhomes, private homeowner associations, multi-family units, unincorporated neighborhoods, and businesses will not be affected.

Waste Hauler Transition TimelineCART DIMENSIONS

Affected residents must log on to LRS’ dedicated LRS web portal, or call 844-NEED-LRS to choose which size garbage and recycling carts are right for your home by December 3. Blue LRS carts will be delivered in mid-to-late-December, but affected residents cannot use the new carts until after the final Waste Management pickup.

The final Waste Management pickup will occur on Wednesday, December 29. After Waste Management empties your carts, affected residents should leave their green carts at the curb until Waste Management collects them.

You can begin using your blue LRS carts after the final Waste Management pick-up on December 29. LRS’ first pickup will occur on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Collection day will continue to be on Wednesdays for all affected residents.

If you have not chosen your desired cart sizes yet, log on to the LRS website by December 3.

NOTE: Waste Management will not empty blue LRS carts, and LRS will not empty green Waste Management carts. For concerns about service in 2021, contact Waste Management at 800-796-9696.

LRS Services

In addition to refuse, recycling, and yard waste, LRS will also provide affected Lincolnshire residents with a number of additional services, including leaf collection, organic waste programs, 4x/year curbside electronic recycling, reduced yard waste sticker pricing, disposal of one additional item outside the container per week, spring cleanup, collection of bulk items and white goods, and shredding events. Additionally, LRS will collect one-holiday tree per property in January at no additional charge. Holiday trees must be real, without decorations, and free of chemicals and sprays.

Leaf Collection

Waste Management will continue to provide the annual leaf collection program through 2021. LRS will provide a similar leaf collection program beginning in October 2022. Click HERE to learn more about leaf collection.

Holidays

Collection will be delayed by one day if a recognized holiday falls on a weekday. LRS and Waste Management recognize the same holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
