Bulk Item/Mattress Collection - Click for More Information
Customers may place one bulk item under 50 lbs. out for collection each week (this does not include additional plastic bags) for no additional charge. Mattresses are considered a bulk item. Mattresses placed out for collection must be wrapped in plastic to be removed. Plastic mattress covers are generally available at local hardware stores.
Additional items that are 50 lbs. or heavier, and/or do not fit into waste containers must be affixed with one LRS Waste Sticker per item for removal. This includes additional waste bags (for customers not subscribed to unlimited waste service), furniture, and other similar items. Excess amounts of demolition or construction-based material will need to be scheduled for separate removal. This material includes, but is not limited to, carpet, drywall, wood, and masonry material.
Mattresses that are unwrapped, along with items that are too heavy for collection on standard routes, will be tagged with a sorry sticker explaining why the item was not collected.

Paper Shredding Event - Click for More Information
The Village is pleased to offer an onsite paper shredding event to all Lincolnshire residents! This new annual service event is courtesy of the Village’s partnership with LRS. Paper shredding event details are below:
Where: Village Hall, 1 Olde Half Day Rd. Please enter from Olde Half Day Road.
When: Saturday, July 22: 9 a.m. – Noon. Rain or Shine.
Important Notes: Lincolnshire residents may bring up to four banker's boxes (12" width x 16" depth x 10" height, or equivalent volume) worth of paper per vehicle to shred. ID is required.
The event is intended for confidential paper shredding, not magazines, newspapers, photographs, or books, which can either be recycled or donated.
Please remove non-paper materials, like electronics, plastics, three-ring binders, binder clips, and any other large metal pieces from your documents before arrival. These items may go airborne when entering the shredder and pose a risk to event staff and attendees. Staples, paper clips, manila folders, and paper file folders are permitted, but it is requested they are removed or recycled as appropriate, if possible.
You may be asked to leave the line to sort your documents if your materials contain unpermitted items.
What to Expect Upon Arrival: Once you pull up to the loading area near the Village Hall’s circle drive main entrance, open your trunk or unlock your doors. Do not exit your vehicle unless requested. Staff will take your documents, load them in the receiving container, and return your box/es (if any). Once the receiving container is full, it will be tipped into the shredder on the truck. Documents will be shredded on-site; however, you may not wait in your car at the unloading zone for the batch to be shredded. If you wish to see your batch be shredded, you must park (limited spots available), walk back to the unloading area, and wait until your batch is loaded into the shredder.
Questions: Please call Public Works at 847-913-2356.

Holiday tree recycling takes place every Wednesday in the month of January. Place your items at the curb by no later than 6 a.m. on your regularly scheduled LRS collection day to ensure collection. Here’s what you need to know:
Natural Trees
Natural trees, wreaths, garlands, etc. will be collected at no charge during collection days. Please limit trees placed out for collection to one per week. Natural trees are not considered bulk items, so they will not count towards your one free “bulk item” limit per week. Trees must be free of chemicals and sprays.
Artificial Trees
Artificial trees or holiday decorations can be placed at the curb as a regular “bulk item” during any regular service day throughout the year. Residents may place one bulk item at the curb every collection day for no additional charge. Any additional bulk item will require an LRS sticker.
Reminders
-
Do not wrap natural trees in plastic. Trees wrapped in plastic will not be collected.
-
All decorations, holiday string lights, stands, tinsel, garland, etc. must be removed for any tree to be collected. Customers wishing to safely recycle holiday string lights and extension cords should visit SWALCO for drop-off locations and hours.
-
Place all trees at the curbside. Only trees placed at the curb will be collected.
- Holiday string lights are NOT accepted during curbside electronic waste collections. Customers wishing to safely recycle these items should visit SWALCO’s website for holiday string lights recycling drop-off locations and hours.
