Waste Management

Waste Management will continue to provide recycling collection every Wednesday in 2021. The final Waste Management pickup will occur on Wednesday, December 29. After Waste Management empties your carts, affected residents should leave their green carts at the curb until Waste Management collects them.

Recycling services will continue to be defined as single-stream, which means most clean and non-contaminated household items will be considered recyclable. Residents may leave out as many accepted recycling items as they wish each week for collection. Overflow recycling materials do not need to be in a container, but large cardboard boxes must be broken down before collection.

See below for a list of acceptable and unacceptable recyclable items. Learn more guidelines on proper recycling steps at the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO).

Based on your new cart selection, LRS will deliver new, blue carts in mid-to-late-December. You can begin using your blue carts after the final Waste Management pick-up on December 29. LRS’ first pickup will occur on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. If you have not chosen your desired cart sizes yet, log on to the LRS website by December 3.

NOTE: Waste Management will not empty blue LRS carts, and LRS will not empty green Waste Management carts.
