Surrey Lane has reopened.

  • Work at the Half Day Road/Riverwoods Road intersection is mostly complete. All lanes on Half Day Road have reopened, and left-turn lanes on Riverwoods Road have also reopened. Right turn lane restrictions on Riverwoods Road will remain for the next few weeks.

  • Bike path and parkway restoration between Half Day Road and Duffy Lane will continue over the next few weeks, as the weather allows.

  • Water main installation between Half Day Road and Pembroke Drive, on the west side of Riverwoods along the bike path, continues this week and next week. Path users in this area are being redirected to cross Half Day Road and use the path on the east side of Riverwoods Road to get to Pembroke while water main installation is occurring.

  • Work north of Half Day Road continues. This work will be staged off of the roadway and involve assembling pipe sections that will be drilled (not trenched) into the ground to minimize impacts and utility conflicts. As access drives are constructed and material is delivered, flagging operations may be necessary for this area.

  • Tree removal between Pembroke Drive and Surrey Lane is 50% complete and will continue on Thursday, November 11. This corridor will provide room for the new water main and bike path.

  • As work progresses on Riverwoods Road north of Half Day Road, safety fencing will be installed to allow the bike path on the west side of Riverwoods Road to remain open as much as possible while the work is ongoing. Temporary closures are required, and alternate routes will be posted to maintain a route to Daniel Wright Middle School.

  • The traffic changes at the intersection are expected to last until November 2021. The entirety of the Crosstown Water Main project is expected to continue through spring 2022.
